ADHD Assessment

Why should you get an ADHD assessment?

  • An accurate diagnosis can help guide effective treatment and can help make adjustments in various domains such as work, study, and at home.
  • If you suspect that you or your child have symptoms, but aren't sure, a formal assessment can help rule out or help confirm a self-diagnosis.
  • An assessment can help someone view themselves in a new light. An assessment can help them to understand and accept past challenges and identify and appreciate their strengths.
  • It can help to communicate their experience to others.
  • Upon completion of an assessment, a detailed report is provided.

What does an ADHD assessment involve?

We offer two types of ADHD assessments: A brief assessment or a comprehensive assessment. These are suitable for children (aged 5  17 years) and adults (18+). Both assessment types assist in the diagnosis of ADHD. The comprehensive assessment also assesses intellectual ability, which can provide more information and help further inform recommendations and assist with treatment planning.

An ADHD Assessment will involve:

  1. An initial 50-minute session to collect relevant background information.
  2. A two-hour assessment session, which will involve the completion of a number of activities to assess intellectual ability.
  3. A 50-minute feedback session to explain the results, recommendations, and explore any feelings that may arise from the assessment. It also provides an opportunity for you to ask any questions and discuss next steps.
  4. A detailed assessment report will be provided within six weeks of the assessment session.

Assessment Cost:

Brief ADHD assessment: $1,500 including GST

Comprehensive ADHD assessment: $2,000 including GST
